Perkins Businesses, Churches, and Organizations:

This year’s Old-Fashioned Country Christmas will be held in the Centennial Plaza. The committee is very excited about the event and feels that the restored Eaton house, the log cabin, and IXL School house will add to the old-fashioned charm of this event.

One of the things we would like to add this year is booth space. There should be plenty of space along the sidewalks within the plaza for at least 20 booths. The booth space is FREE, but  you will have to provide your own 6 or 8 ft table and tent covering (if you want it.) You should probably not count on electricity being available. Some suggestions for booths:

-          Local crafters: Sell merchandise

-          Local businesses: sell merchandise, give away promotional items, hold a raffle

-          Local churches: give away small snacks or offer craft activities or games for kids, raise money with a silent auction.

-          Local organizations: hold a raffle, offer craft activities or games for kids, hold a silent auction

…basically anything to add to the enjoyment of the event for attendees, particularly kiddoes.

To secure a booth space, reply to this email to let me know of your intention AND return the attached form to me either by mail, fax, (info is on the form) or in person at the Nov 19/Dec 3 Chamber meeting. I don’t have every one’s email address, so please forward this along to anyone you think might be interested.

By the way, here are some of the activities that we are pretty sure we have lined up for the evening:

·         5 pm - ?: POSSE will host a chili/stew supper in the Vassar Building starting around 5pm.
·         6pm – 8pm: Hay rides - will load north of Old Service Station
·         6pm – 8pm: A night in Bethlehem (North of Pete Statue) Eden Chapel Church
·         6pm – 6:10pm: Pre-K singers, Christmas Story, Lighting of Tree, near Vassar Building
·         6:10 - 6:30: High School Band and Choir perform, near Tree
·         6:30pm: Santa arrives and gives away candy
·         6:45pm - ?: Pictures with Santa in IXL Schoolhouse
·         6:45pm – 8pm: Music Makers, Rhythm Alley Dance, Star Spirit Dance, under Bartram Pavilion

In consideration of acceptance of this entry, I hereby waive any and all claims for myself and my heirs, successors, or assigns against the Perkins Chamber of Commerce, or any of their agents, officers, volunteers and/or employees for any injury or illness, theft or other damage which may directly or indirectly result from my participation at any Perkins Chamber of Commerce event or activity while on their “premises,” and I further agree to save and hold said parties harmless and agree to indemnify each of said parties against all liability for any loss, cost injury or damage to persons or property which may arise by virtue of my participation of being on the “premises,” of a Perkins Chamber of Commerce event. I understand that Perkins Chamber of Commerce events/activities may be cancelled in the sole judgment and discretion of the sponsors, while in agreement with
the sponsor, if unsaid conditions exist due to rain, heat, civil defense, strikes or other circumstances. I further agree that the times of said event/activity may change at the sole discretion of the sponsors. I understand that while I am participating in said event/activity the sponsors or their agents may photograph me, and I agree to allow my photograph to be taken and used as the sponsors see fit.
